Temperature Sensors

We can produce RTD (Resistance Temperature Detectors), fine-wire sensors, wire-embedded sensors, window-temperature sensors, and optically-clear high-light-transmission (LT) sensors.
Relevant Applicable Skills
  • Micro-solderingwires as small as 0.018mm (.0007”)
  • FOD (Foreign-Object Debris/Damage) prevention system (to standard AS9146)
  • Fine-wire embedding with automated precision
  • Efficient, repeatable process that is continually improved for cost and quality improvement
  • Product testing with a zero-acceptance-number sampling plan (C=0)
  • Standard product resistance tolerances of +/-1Ω. Tighter tolerances can be produced on request.
  • Custom process development to match customer drawings. Product design support available.
  • Experts of small-scale (6”x6” and smaller) lamination.
Additional Details
  • Ranging in size from a single 1” x 1” head to multiple heads embedded in a sheet of plastic the size of an aircraft cockpit window
  • We work with a variety of plastic materials (polyurethane, PVB, etc). All are clear and made to laminate into windows.
  • Small order quantities accepted.
  • Laminated and unlaminated products available

Polyimide-Laminated Temperature Sensors

We can produce RTD, fine-wire sensors, wire-wound sensors, and Kapton temperature sensors that can withstand lamination at 365°F and can be produced for even higher temperature assembly and usage. These thin sensors are flexible and capable of tight curvature (smaller than 25mm diameter).
Relevant Applicable Skills
  • Micro-welding – fine-wire welding of .025mm (.001”) wires
  • Working with nickel-alloy and platinum wire
  • Standard resistance tolerances to +/- 0.5Ω. Can be modified to meet client requirements.
  • Lamination of products to encapsulate them in a polyimide skin.
  • Custom technology to wind wire on a carrier quickly and for maximum performance stability.

Fine-Wire Heater Mats

We produce embedded-wire heater mats and electrical-resistance heater grids that are near-invisible in the view of aircraft pilots.
Relevant Applicable Skills
  • Handling large, sensitive parts
  • Efficient and effective test practices for heaters

Thermistors

We produce RTD sensors, semi-conductor discs, and negative-temperature-coefficient sensors. These products are optically clear and suitable to be in constant view in a cockpit.
Relevant Applicable Skills
  • Epoxy potting (optically clear)
  • Applying conductive epoxy for electrical connections

Making the impossible a reality

Over 10 years ago, an aerospace engineer came to us needing a specific piece of equipment manufactured. It was a one-of-a-kind piece of equipment that didn’t yet exist, so we were excited to take on this unique challenge. Our team was able to help the engineer with their manufacturing challenge, and since then, we’ve worked together on a number of projects.
